Sociology professionals are concerned that this Twitter style of communication will encourage isolation and loneliness in young people.

I think there are studies already that support social media (rather than 'real' social intercourse) is correlated to these two matters.

watch a 20-something do ANYTHING without a phone glued to his/her hand. the phone is the new pacifier.

i'm not so shocked about the "kids" and their phones, but the older folks who lived their whole lives without cell phones and yet now cannot function without them.
