Sunday Morning Post (V.1; #7): Telephone Hour
This week a
quiz for loyal blog readers. View the
scene below from Bye Bye Birdie (1963) and count how many object(s) shown no
longer exist or have had their importance in society greatly diminished in the
last 50 plus years. I will post my findings
later this week.
(Thank you
for reading. All together now: ED SULLIVAN!)

Lost of things, books and phones and one piece bathing suits. That shower scene must have been considered provocative.

Bobbie socks and plain white sneakers.
Hordes of white kids singing on phones in a malt shop? You don't see that kind of thing nowadays. Were people of color discovered about that time? I do like this movie and I enjoyed the remake with Vanessa Williams.
Thank you, Dave R. Would you believe UI overlooked books in my list (still being written).
Great list, Debra. I'll expand on some of those when I publish my list.
Hi Spo! Um...Cobalt?
Thank you Old Lurker. Extra points for remembering that the lunch counters were segregated.
Thank you Krayolarkis. I had thought of bobby socks (or is it sox?), but I didn't include on my list.
Thank you Deedles. I've not seen the Vanessa Williams version, but I'll have to catch up with it one of these daysa. BTW, one of the birdies on the telephone line told me that it's your birthday tomorrow. Early birthday wishes for a great day!
