Sing, Birdies, Sing!
I must
confess to at least one moment of insanity within the last few weeks. As we witness the Republican Party’s lurch
towards new found areas of right-wing territory, I blurted out loud something
akin to liberal heresy.
I said, out
loud in the presence of Warrior Queen that, given the current state of American
politics how much I miss Ronald Reagan. His
policies suddenly appear to be so…sane compared to what we have now. I can only attribute Warrior Queen’s arthritic
condition prevented her from throwing me bodily out of our house.
I know, sacrilege,
but that is how I saw things on that day.
Now, however,
there is a renewed hope in my outlook.
This past week the President’s campaign manager, Paul Manafort, struck a
plea deal in exchange for information that the Mueller investigation presumably
does not have regarding the President’s campaign ties to Russia. He and several other former advisers have
also struck deals to cooperate with the independent counsel.
Liberals everywhere
are salivating at the information they possess.
Of course, the most balanced and mature legal minds are not speculating about
what information they will give to Mueller.
Secretly, everyone is expecting all of them to sing like birds.
To that end,
we dedicate this song to those of the President’s men who have sought legal
shelter in plea deals.
Please enjoy…

an earworm.)

I despise this fucking song!
AM is killing me, though I am glad you spared you physical harm!
It's not just Liberals, it's Centrists and Independents. And not delaying the Kavanaugh vote is going to cost them more women's vote... and that's not a good thing.
I love this song! The deep, heart felt lyrics always bring a tear to my eye.
You're not yet yearning for the return of Dubya, then? Or would that be just TOO daft?
Let's keep it clean, AM!
Thank you Bob. I was lucky...this time.
We'll see what transpires this week, Dave. As they sing in 1776,"we may see murder yet!"
Thank you Deedles. It is an addictive tune, but AM ranks this song along with everything Abba ever recorded. (Spoiler alert: she hates Abba.)
No, Raybeard, We will let sleeping Republicans lie....
Nostalgic for Reagan? The one who pretended AIDS did not exist? The one who started us on this trend of starving the government? Maybe it is time to consult a doctor, if only to ensure your pain meds are not much much too strong.
(I hope your hips are healing up, BTW. I am glad you got through the surgery.)
Only nostalgic for a leader who was mature. Otherwise nostalgia for Reagan is scary!
Thank you for your get well wishes.
Mr. Reagan seems tame - almost liberal! - by today's horrible GOP standards.
Oh he was mature, all right. Towards the end he was so mature he was widely rumoured to have developed dementia.
